...Not at all. In fact I'm probably a bigger Dylan fan than...oops. Let me rephrase, I'm as big a Dylan fan as Jerry was. Point is, that he had his moments of artistic underachievement, usually in a much more public way.

I wasn't really whining about the two of you anyway, Earl, although I'm sure it came off that way. Just playin' around, really. As for Bob, he has had countless moments of sheer brilliance, and from time to time he could also get a bad case of the Subterranean Homesick Blues, which I like just fine, too, by the way. But I do think Bob is way more aware than anybody which ones are real poetry and which ones are jingles. Tell posted one of the real ones.

Yessir and an outstanding version on the Bobfest CD with Neil Young, Clapton and McGuinn singing...even if Clapton flubs his verse.

Oh-God yeah! Haven't seen that in YEARS.
Clapton-Don't Think Twice, It's Alright; Richie Havens-Just Like A Woman; George-Absolutely Sweet Marie (and his introduction of the man himself); Petty, et. al.-License to Kill/Rainy Day Women; Mary Chapin Carpenter, Shawn Colvin, and Roseanne Cash-You Ain't Goin' Nowhere, etc., etc., . . . . . I wore that videotape OUT!

I was almost ready to let the conversation come to end, but accidentally remembered Sinead O'Connor's unfortunate contribution to Knockin' On Heaven's Door, when she chose to do the Axl Rose thing during the big chorus. That sounded kinda horrible. And that show was right after the Sat Nite Live incident when she tore up the Pope's picture, which resulted in a big round of boos and catcalls during her solo slot. I can't recall what she was doing, but I do remember her being escorted away in tears by Kristofferson. Yikes.
